New phone [Oct. 18th, 2009|09:15 pm]
Yo guys, been a while since I posted here as I generally use it to lurk and spy on my friends. I MEAN . . . . . keep tabs on friends, yeah! That's it! Anyway, recently got a cell phone, first time in a few years. So, toss me your #'s, as I doubt I have them all, and if I did have, I might not know where they are . . . . oops, I know. Comments are screened hopefully, so post away and hopefully you won't share your number with shittons of random people. Or, you could toss it to me on AIM @ TurtlesSong, or message me here or on facebook should you use that. Thanks guys! =P Also, if you have somebody elses # that you think I should have, feel free to pass that my way too =P

Another year [Apr. 28th, 2008|12:58 am]
So. . . .. . I'm now 27. Still feels the same, still have no clue what the hell is really going on in the world, still just going along with the flow and trying to enjoy what I can, see what I can. Another year.

I don't know what pisses me off more. The fact that Robert Jordan died, or the fact that CNN has fucking NOTHING about it online.

My score on The Greek Mythology Personality Test:

The Oracle

(33% Extroversion, 80% Intuition, 27% Emotiveness, 57% Perceptiveness)

Heuristic, detached, and analytical to a fualt, you are most like The Oracle. You are able to tackle any subject with a fine toothed comb, and you possess an ability to pinpoint nuances and shades of meaning that other people do not have and cannot understand. Accomplishment and realization of ideas are, for you, secondary to the rigorous exploration of ideas and questions -- you are, first and foremost, a theorist. You hate authority, convention, tradition, and under no circumstances do you accept a leadership role (although, you will gladly advise leadership when they're going astray, whether they want you to or not). Abstraction and generalities are your interests, details and particulars are usually inconsequential and uninteresting. You excel at language, mathematics and philosophy.

You are typically easy-going and non-confrontational until someone violates one of the very few principles that you deem sacred, at which point you can fly into a rage. Although you possess a much greater understanding of process and systems than the people around you, you are always conscious of the possibility that you've missed something or made a mistake. You don't tend to become attached to particular theories, and will immediately discard mistaken notions once they're revealed to be incorrect (but you don't tolerate iconoclasts who try to discredit validated theories through the use of fallacies and bad data). Despite being outwardly humble, you probably think of yourself as being smarter than most other people. That's because you are. In fact, in your dealings with people your understanding of their motives is so expansive that you know what they're going to say before they say it, and in world affairs, you usually know what is going to take place before it actually does. This ability would make you unbeatable in debates if only you were a little less pensive about your own conclusions, and a little more outgoing.

Famous people like you: Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, Adam Smith, Thomas Jefferson, John McWhorter, Ramanujan, Marie Curie, Kurt Godel
Stay clear of: Apollo, Icarus, Hermes, Aphrodite
Seek out: Atlas, Prometheus, Daedalus

Wow, I'm updating! I'm not dead! Woohoo! Anyway, just a real quick FYI before I go to sleep, I pushed the button, and I seriously think I just got a candy bar . . . . which makes me so amazingly happy right now. However, due to years of training, I'm waiting for something to come along and give me one hell of a shock. =/

1.] grab the nearest book.
2.] open the book to page 23.
3.] find the fifth sentence.
4.] post the text of the next sentence on your blog along with these instructions.
5.]
don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your
closet! i know you were thinking about it! just pick up whatever is
closest.
6.] tag five other people to do the same

The Trial by Franz Kafka (honest that this was the closest, seeing as how I wanted to read a part cuz it somehow came up in a convo with a friend from work)

Absorbed in his thoughts, he had been marching up and down the entrance hall for some time as if it were his own room, and now he fled behind his bedroom door.

I tag people who read books. Yay.

So I'm starting to read Lisey's Story finally. I have to say, I'm completely creeped out by page 50 or so already. Not in classic horror type creepy, but in the "Is he even sane at all anymore?" type creeped out. Seriously, King got hit by a car. He needs to accept this, and move on. Stop writing in varying degrees about it, stop focusing on your own mortality, stop being obsessed over it. Stop writing goddamn creepy crap that just makes me think you're crazy in all the wrong ways. It's good, don't get me wrong. It is however obsessed already with writers in near death experiences and horror. Ah well, time to get some sleep methinks.

There, I updated.

This little piggii had roast beef, this little piggii had none . . . [Nov. 20th, 2006|02:58 am]
[music |Cake - Wheels]

So yeah, I got a Wii on launch. Surprising? Not really, if you know me at all. Which I imagine most of you do, seeing as you're reading this. I had to have Erik come in around 5:30 and claim my place in line, and I still got # 22 out of 28. So it was kind of close, in the scheme of things. Hung out with some cool people, most of whom I already knew, and basically got really jittery when I got it, thining (mostly irrationally) that I was going to get mugged for my new crack in virtual form. Anyway, review.

Fucking awesome. The remote is just sensitive enough, and not horribly over sensitive like I thought it was going to be. Graphics are great, and the sound is crystal. Wonderful almost all around. The Wii Sports game that came with the console is just plain fun. It's very basic, and introduces you to the system quite well. It makes you learn in a very user friendly type of way, and in a way that makes you want to just get better with it, not having to worry about really beating much else, as it scales difficulty to how well you do. I did pick up Zelda as well, but haven't really spent much time in it, as I've been bowling and playing tennis and golfing. =P

There are a few things I'm not so hot on, however. First thing is it seems the sound on it is incredibly loud, as well as being unable to turn down the volume that comes out of the remote. Another problem is it doesn't have any capabilities to play audio cds, or dvds. I understand why it doesn't, but it still kind of upsets me that in this day and age you can't put software in to allow audio cds to play. Oh well. My last problem has to do with the controller, and it's that sometimes motions that you have to go through to fulfill necessary controller motions cause inconveniences. For example, bringing the controller back to center after having swung to hit the ball in tennis, the game will often interpret it as another swing. Which can cause issues occasionally. But oh well, I'm sure I'll get used to it and find a workaround or just learn how to not have it happen.

Oh yeah, and I did go Wii Wii Wii all the way home.

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

Yo [Sep. 11th, 2006|10:51 pm]
Ok everybody, here's the deal. Party this Friday, 8 pm at the house. PLEASE - if you plan on coming, do 1 of 2 things - TELL ME before Friday you're coming with beer/liquor. I need to know who is bringing stuff, so I don't go out and spend the precious little money I have on duplicate stuff. Or, don't bring anything, and just give me some cash to offset the fact that I have very little $$ right now, and am (perhaps stupidly) having a party. But I'll need it, so I can justify it in my head.

So once again, choices are thus -

1. Tell me what type/how much liquor you are bringing.
2. Give me money.

Works, doesn't it? Bring friends, bring booze, bring some fun times. See you on Friday. 8 PM.

So, based on PvP comics, who wants to have a little party on the night that Survivor starts and make white pride t-shirts? I think it'd be hilarious myself . . . . .

The wedding was good. Congratulations to Erik and Katharine Regnell now, I'm sure they'll be happy together, lord knows they have been thus far. =P It's rather odd, though. Everybody kept saying how glad they were and somewhat surprised that I would be there. My response was thus "Like hell I was going to miss this! I was there for the original beginning, you think I'm going to miss the new beginning?" A general all-around good time was had, which I am thankful for. Friends were seen that hadn't been seen in far too long, people came great distances to see an amazing person's great day, and there were many laughs that could be heard for a long, long distance I'm sure. I have #'s for people, which is possibly one of the best happenings for the weekend. =P It was wonderful weather, and wondeful people, and wonderful times.

Erik and Katharine, I wish you the best of luck, even if I don't think you'll really need it. Be well! =P

The Dark Tower Character Test

You are Eddie! Eddie is often called the ka-mai, or destiny's fool, by Roland, and to others it may seem as if you are shallow and silly. But you actually have a better understanding of what is going on then most, and hide your deep feelings with humor. As long as you learn to keep your jokes appropriate...
